Stone walls and views of Vesuvius

The story opens out into the landscape: a shower of rice, smiles with the guests and portraits overlooking Vesuvius. At Lettere Castle, the stone walls and diagonal lines of the staircase frame a quieter gesture between Matteo and Clementina.

The final portraits move to Bosco de’ Medici in Pompei. Autumn leaves, joined hands and a kiss among the vines give this part of the gallery a more intimate scale, before a last portrait together on the garden bench.
